When you are looking for a veterinary care clinic you should find a knowledgeable and professional veterinarian, backed by a superior team of compassionate and personal staff. At Animal Clinic of Ava you can have confidence in the quality of service and level of care your pet or livestock will receive. Located in the heart of the Ozarks in southern Missouri, our two state of the art facilities are well equipped to treat, operate on, or hospitalize your pet or livestock. Our small animal facility is over 2,000 square feet of efficiency; utilizing two doctors on staff through the week. Our large animal facility is furnished with a cattle chute, sorting tub and separating pens, an equine stock for dental and pregnancy examinations, and progressive equipment and medicine to tackle tough cases. Call 417-683-6830 to visit with one of our friendly gals. We would love to show you our facilities and boarding areas, answer any questions you may have, or schedule an appointment with one of our experienced doctors.
Once a year, you should take your cat or dog in for a check-up. This will include a full physical exam, a chance for you to ask any questions, and most importantly gives our veterinarians an opportunity to notice underlying problems or conditions unseen without an exam. At Animal Clinic of Ava, our priority is preventative medicine. We believe that, apart from trauma, a majority of complications and illness can be avoided with proper prevention, and we are committed to aiding the practical pet owner in this endeavor. We have packaged services that we offer, combining a spay/neuter surgery with proper vaccinations, giving the responsible pet parent an opportunity to give their loved animal the very best chance at a healthy life. Call us at 417-683-6830 for more information regarding our "Wellness Packages" for your cat or dog.
Bring in any medical history you have of your pet when you come to our vet clinic. It's best to keep a journal of your pet's health throughout his or her life, including behavioral shifts, notating diet and environmental changes. If you have something like this, share it with our team. If not, let our Technicians know everything that you think will be important. Dr. Peters or Dr. Phillips can still work with whatever information you have.
Dr. Peters and Dr. Phillips have performed a wide array of delicate surgeries and procedures, ranging from abdominal to orthopedic, and have the expertise to handle almost any circumstance requiring attention. We will, however, refer you to a specialist who has advanced experience in any instance that the patient would benefit from a referral.
At Animal Clinic of Ava, we are proud to offer emergency services to both large and small animals alike. Our order of appointments will be to stabilize and treat Emergencies first, followed by regularly scheduled appointments, and lastly accommodating walk-in appointments when possible. Because of our availability to treat Emergencies, your scheduled appointment may not always run on time. If there will be a wait time for your appointment we will do our best to notify you by phone beforehand if possible, and will inform you upon arrival of an expected wait time. We offer refreshments and comfortable waiting areas throughout our premises; a family area for kids to relax, and a "secluded" waiting area for nervous or aggressive patients to comfortably wait to be seen.
If the appointment is for your horse, livestock or farm animal, find a convenient parking space near our large animal facility and come on inside to our Reception desk to check in with our friendly gals. They will want to update your contact information before unloading any animals, and forms may need to be completed before certain procedures. Grab some coffee while you wait for one of the gals or veterinarians to accompany you back to the Large Animal Facility to assist unloading your animal(s). We respectfully ask that no animals are unloaded without one of our staff assisting; we want to be present in the unimaginable event an accident or unforeseen complication arises.
You can bet our staff will get to know your name, your animals and your interests. Our team at Animal Clinic of Ava is like a big family; and our patients are just an extension of that unit. We value everyone and every pet that walks through our doors. Our prayer is that our clients completely and fully know how important their animals are to us, and how committed we are are to maintaining their health and wellness.
